FormscanBy Gary Carson - The highly regarded JOHN F KENNEDY left his debut run here well behind when scoring in great style at the Curragh and he looks like he could be the real deal. He failed to give his true running first time when the occasion may have gotten to him but he was much more professional second time of asking. The way he stretched clear inside the final furlong was impressive and though it probably wasn't the strongest maiden for the track, with the form being let down since, it was the manor of his victory and the promise of more to come that looked the thing to take away from the race. This is a step up in class, however, and it would be no surprise to see Tombelaine make him work. It was a messy race in which he was second to Gleneagles in the Tyros here in July but although it was only a three-runner affair the trio all look smart. Convergence, who finished third, went on to Listed success while Gleneagles looks a top prospect after his Futurity win. Dermot Weld's charge showed a smart turn of foot when scoring on his debut here and this step up to a mile looks like it will suit. Bertie Le Belge has done nothing wrong, winning both his starts, but needs to step up a good bit on the level of form he showed to win a winners race here as the second and third are decent but would be a bit below this level. The selection's stable-mate East India was turned over at a very short price in Tipperary last time. The winner Convergence is a decent sort but it was a disappointing effort to be dismissed so easily and he needs to improve on that.
