The Stewards interviewed K.M. Donoghue, rider of Money Heist, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that K.M. Donoghue was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday. Mr. Donal H. Gavin, Acting Steward, recused himself from this enquiry
The Stewards interviewed R.P. Geoghegan, rider of Brandy Harbour (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and Regulation 10.3(f)(force). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended R.P
Geoghegan for nine racedays and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip. Mr. Donal H. Gavin, Acting Steward, recused himself from this enquiry
The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Money Heist, placed first, as compared with its previous hurdle form. The trainer reported that Money Heist had a long break which appeared to strengthen the animal and was working very well at home of late, which he felt had helped to bring about today's improved performance in what he felt was a moderate contest. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
