Permission was given for Richardson (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Approaching the final hurdle, Lady Balko (FR), placed second, moved slightly right-handed causing the winner, Ask Brewster (IRE), to be moved slightly off its intended line, which in turn caused Jo Lescribaa (FR), unplaced, to be short for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Ask Brewster (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wincanton on the 17 February 2024, where the gelding finished third of seven, beaten 28 ½ lengths.
Evan Williams could provide no explanation for the improvement in form.
Ask Brewster (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ned Fox reported that he briefly lost his irons jumping the third last hurdle on Jo Lescribaa (FR), unplaced.
