The winner Keep Rolling (IRE) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Haydock on 19 February 2022, where the gelding finished third of three, beaten 83 lengths, on Heavy ground.
Philip Hobbs representative explained that the gelding was suited by the better ground on this occasion, which was officially described as Soft, Good to Soft in places.
The performance of Star of Rory (IRE), which started second favourite and finished fifth of six, was considered.
John Groucott’s explanation that the gelding was never travelling and was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft, Good to Soft in places and would prefer a softer surface, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Star of Rory (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Sam Twiston-Davies reported that Do It For Thy Sen (IRE), placed fourth, jumped left-handed throughout.
