An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after the final fence involving the winner, Gentleman De Mai (FR), ridden by Craig Nichol and No Regrets (IRE), placed second, ridden by Danny McMenamin.
The Stewards considered the interference had not improved the placing of Gentleman De Mai (FR) as Gentleman De Mai (FR) shifted quickly right-handed giving No Regrets (IRE) a slight nudge and becoming briefly unbalanced, though the rider of No Regrets (IRE) did not have to stop riding and Gentleman De Mai (FR) was going away at the finish having come from behind, to win by a neck.
The Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Gentleman De Mai (FR) shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip before being corrected.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Had To Be Hugo (IRE), placed third, lost its left hind shoe.
