FormscanBy Gary Carson - There looks scope for further improvement from SPILLANE'S TOWER at this trip. Jimmy Mangan's charge made a couple of slight errors over the last two when taking the WillowWarm Gold Cup at Fairyhouse over Easter but was nicely on top at the line and has always shaped like a horse that would appreciate a trip. Monty's Star ran a cracker when chasing home the brilliant Fact To File in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham and he is a horse that is still progressing. Embassy Gardens bumped into a good one when second to Corbetts Cross in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham. A mistake two out put paid to his chances then and he's capable of getting closer now.

Quotes on American Mike (IRE)
To be honest, he's probably one of the horses that makes me scratch my head more than any other. He keeps disappointing me and then he comes back with a good one again. He has obviously a big engine on his day, when he's right, but he's not easy to train. I thought Jack gave him a great ride. I don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going with him, he's a horse that baffles me. We've just tipped away with him steady at home and haven't over-worked him as he was very fit going to Christmas, but just didn't get home. He's in a few of the novice chases at Cheltenham and he could go for an Irish National. I don't know what I'm going to do with him to be honest. We'll enjoy today, he's won a graded race for Noel and Valerie (Moran, Bective Stud) at their local track, they are big supporters of Navan and the whole game. After American Mike (IRE) finished 1st at Navan on Sun, 11th Feb 2024 3m Novice Chase Heavy

Quotes on Embassy Gardens (GB)
That was a really good performance and what I like about this horse is that he really loves jumping. When he sees a fence, he wants to jump it and that’s a huge asset in this game. He jumps, he stays and does everything right. He’s learned to settle now and is much easier to ride. He looks a natural for staying chasing and he’ll go for one of the staying chases in Cheltenham. After Embassy Gardens (GB) finished 1st at Naas on Sun, 28th Jan 2024 3m Novice Chase Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Salvador Ziggy (IRE)
It was a good performance again even though he was getting a few pounds off two of them. Jack (Kennedy, jockey) said the further he went, the better he got. He probably wasn't in love with the track or maybe the ground. . There is a novice chase for him at Killarney next week and you need three runs to qualify for those good staying handicap chase, so that's why we are keen to run him. He could be a horse for the Kerry National. After Salvador Ziggy (IRE) finished 1st at Tramore on Fri, 18th Aug 2023 2m 5f Chase Soft

Quotes on Sandor Clegane (IRE)
He is a horse that gets into a nice rhythm and jumps well, he was probably jumping too well to that hurdle (second-last) and he just met it on a half stride. A bit of a guess just when we were starting to get rolling. Overall, he's a good jumper and it was a good performance. The two of us (Three Card Brag) probably were in the same boat in that we wanted a nice gallop, but neither of us were really mad to make it. We went along upsides and we went a nice, even gallop all the way. It kind of suited both of us and, in fairness, this lad picked up nicely into the straight. It is beautiful ground - it is just yielding, it isn't any slower. It is lovely jumping ground. We didn't declare for the Grade 1, we had a talk and some were for it and some against it. If he wasn't going to win this, he wasn't going to win the Grade 1 in an hour's time. Why take on a horse rated 10lb above you? He'd won one maiden hurdle and is the best horse we have in the yard, so it's nice to get another win with him. He'd prefer easier ground, it's as nice as he'd want it, but it's lovely ground and the track looks fantastic. Next to my father Dan Browne is the greatest gentleman I ever met and is a great supporter for the yard. I delighted for Jim Coffey and all the lads involved. It means an awful lot for every trainer to win here and thanks be to God we got one. We'll probably start off over two-and-a-half over fences next season and build it up. Please God it will lead to Cheltenham again. It's niceAfter Sandor Clegane (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Wed, 26th Apr 2023 2m 3f Hurdle Yielding

Quotes on Sharjah (FR)
He was very smooth and jumped like he did at home. Every time I schooled him he always looked very capable and confident over fences and showed that today. If he wasn't good we wouldn't have gone chasing with him but he was so natural at home and did today what he has done at home,. In today's race he was meeting a lot less competition compared to what he had been meeting over hurdles for the past four or five years - none of those horses had ever run in a Grade 1 hurdle and he enjoyed it. I imagine he'll stay to winners' races now and he would get nice ground for the Drinmore. After Sharjah (FR) finished 1st at Galway on Tue, 1st Aug 2023 2m 2f Chase Yielding

Quotes on Spillane's Tower (IRE)
From day one we’ve liked this horse and he’s taken to fences really well. I so delighted for the lads at home in the yard, Pat Murphy rides him every day, and the McManus family for sending him to me. We only have about a dozen horses and most of them are pointers. He’s only a six-year-old and his future is ahead of him. When the ground dries he’ll go home to Martinstown and next year will be the plan. I couldn’t see why he wouldn’t stay three miles but that will be for next year. He’s by a great sire in Walk In The Park. I spoke to Jody Townend and she said the ground is a bit tacky more so on the hurdle course than the chase so I was happy enough. Willie is an incredible trainer and a gentleman into the bargain. He even wished me well before the race today and visa versa I wished him well. After Spillane's Tower (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Sun, 31st Mar 2024 2m 4f Chase Heavy

Quotes on Three Card Brag (IRE)
He looked good, he jumped well apart from one,. I loved, from the last to the line, the way he put his head down and galloped. There is plenty of improvement in him. In fairness to Sean Doyle, he came well recommended. He has a very good association with the McNeills. He's a horse that doesn't show much at home but does it on the track. He might not be a horse for good ground but you'd like him, he has a great attitude. I thought it was a good performance because it wasn't a bad race. After Three Card Brag (IRE) finished 1st at Galway on Sat, 29th Oct 2022 2m Maiden Hurdle Soft to Heavy
