He ran a decent race on his debut at Dundalk when finishing third and seemed to step up on that in a stronger looking contest at the Curragh last time. He showed plenty of pace then which is an advantage over the sharp five here. Aidan O'Brien has had a slow start to the year but his first juvenile runner The Warrior finished a fine second at Cork last Saturday. The Great War cost one million dollars as a yearling and is by the sire of the moment War Front. It will be fascinating to see how he gets on. The yard's other runner is Rip Van Winkle colt Dick Whittington. He is a half-brother to a couple of winners and out of an unraced half-sister to champion sprinter Owington. Tommy Stack's newcomer Blackbriar is another one to note. She is a half-sister to Curragh maiden winner Tarn, who looked good when winning on her debut but was well held in Group 3 company subsequently. Sauanna Belle ran a nice race when fourth on her debut at Navan but needs to come forward a good bit here while Bluerince Lady was well behind then. Cleveland Street was fancied for his debut at Dundalk but ran no race. He might be capable of better.
