FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - DOWN ACE will do for me here. I was in attendance at the point-to-point in Ballinaboola the day this daughter of Generous scored for Ross O'Sullivan under Derek O'Connor. At this juncture it's rather funny to note that Little King Robin was back in fourth on that occasion. She's obviously a different mare now but Down Ace herself did well in the interim by winning no less than five on the bounce when joining Fergal O'Brien cross-channel. Her form has dipped a bit since. There was merit in her last effort though, behind the aforementioned Little King Robin, as she travelled well to the straight on her first outing for Noel Meade. Going over racecourse fences now for the initial occasion, Down Ace is taken to account for Our Ned and Dazzling Susie. Of course the latter, a previous Thurles winner, would be dangerous at the height of her powers if getting loose on the lead. Our Ned is a grand mare that was impressive at Limerick back in July off a break. Perhaps she's a type that is best caught fresh.
