He returns to the level having landed a Grade 3 novice chase at Roscommon just under two weeks ago. He travelled better than anything that day but got no run in the straight and it's a bit of a surprise that the handicapper eased him on that showing. He hadn't made much impression in the Ebor over in York on his previous run but did run a cracker in that race last year off a rating a pound higher than he has here. He's always looked capable of landing a big one on the Flat. Clondaw Warrior looks an obvious leading contender but has to shoulder another 13lb hike for his win at Galway. There is no doubt that he was value for more than the winning distance then, however, after overcoming a troubled passage and the step up in trip here shouldn't prove a problem. Hidden Universe is good over this trip as he showed at Galway when he justified strong support. A 5lb rise for that victory doesn't look overharsh and he could be a big player. Eye Of The Tiger, famously part of a Barney Curley-linked coup at the start of the year, has run well on a couple of outings for Johnny Murtagh buy may have enough weight now. English raider Blue Surf was just denied over this trip at Goodwood on his penultimate start and has run well again since over shorter there. He could be a contender off the same mark while Hassle also remains on the same rating that he held when running well over the two miles at Ascot in August. Brian Ellison runs two and Zeus Magic may prove the pick. He won twice in England during the summer and this step up in trip might bring about further improvement. Marchese Marconi is capable but pretty exposed and there may be a few better handicapped while in contrast the inexperienced Asbury Boss may have a tough task on his handicap debut.%0A

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards that, at entry, have run at least twice under any Rules of Racing and are eligible for a handicap rating (105 = 9st 12lb) Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won. Any horse rated above 105 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 105 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 105 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
