Ger Lyons has not hidden his belief in Obliterator, and the half-brother to last year’s Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Just The Judge was sent off a heavily-backed favourite on his reappearance in the Fielden Stakes at Newmarket having won his sole juvenile start at the Curragh. He proved no match for True Story in that Listed event but time may tell he ran into a high class opponent.
