The Teofilo colt took a long time to get going but really built up a head of steam inside the final furlong to get within a neck of fellow newcomer East India (soundly beaten second when long odds-on in a Listed race at Tipperary on Friday), and this extra furlong should prove ideal. John F Kennedy held a tall reputation prior to his appearance at Leopardstown, although rather surprisingly was a shade weak in the market on track when runner-up to Hall Of Fame. The full-brother to Tapestry can be expected to progress significantly from that experience and rates a major threat. Dunquin made the frame on Irish Derby day in the maiden won by Accepted, and the first three in that six-furlong event have all won since including the aforementioned winner in a Tipperary Listed sprint. The son of Cape Cross ran quite freely on that occasion and it will be interesting to see how he copes with this extra quarter mile. Intransive is a half-brother to six winners and from the family of All At Sea and Twice Over, while Aared is from a family that Kevin Prendergast has done well with in the past. His dam won three times for the veteran trainer including at Listed level, and she's produced four winners to-date (all Stakes placed fillies). The market should prove the best guide to Johnny Murtagh’s trio of newcomers.
