FormscanBy Gary Carson - The trainers of the big two here have both stated this is a prep run before Ascot and preference is just for GORDON LORD BYRON who has run well after %09a bit of time off in the past. He has been a remarkable servant to connections and is equally at home over this trip as seven or a mile. He hasn't run since picking up an injury in Hong Kong in March but that break could actually work in his favour. Sole Power is another absolute star performer and arguably the best sprinter in Europe. He won the Al Quoz Sprint at the fifth attempt in Dubai in March against some of the world's best. The vibes from Eddie Lynam just suggest though that the camp wouldn't be surprised if he didn't win this though and there is the suspicion that he is better over five. This stiff six may test his stamina. Maarek is another top-level performer at his best but tends to be best with a bit more juice in the ground than this. Last year's Jersey winner Mustajeeb would need to be at his peak to score over this trip on his return. English raider Astaire could play a big part as he comes here fit and ready. He wasn't beaten far in a Group Two at York recently having taken a Group Three at Newmarket last month.
