Take Cover seems likely to make his seasonal reappearance in the Temple Stakes at Haydock on May 27.

The evergreen 10-year-old enjoyed a fine 2016 campaign, winning the Group Two King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood before finishing third to Mecca's Angel in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

He finished down the field on his final outing in the Prix de l'Abbaye, but did his chances no good when slowly away and was always struggling thereafter.

His trainer David Griffiths said: "Take Cover was in the paddock over the winter and he's done really well, looking lovely and fat.

"He feels as good as ever and will probably start off in the Temple Stakes at Haydock.

"He'll probably go to Royal Ascot, but the King George and the Nunthorpe are the two races for him again."
