Willie Mullins has confirmed Total Recall an intended runner in the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree - but Bellshill is likely to stay at home for the Irish equivalent.

Total Recall won his first three starts after joining the champion trainer from the now-retired Sandra Hughes, landing the Munster National at Limerick, the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury and a valuable handicap hurdle at the inaugural Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.

He fell three fences from home in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but has returned home unscathed and is set to head to Merseyside for the world's greatest steeplechase on April 14.

Stable companion Bellshill emerged as a major National contender when making a successful return from almost a year on the sidelines in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse a few weeks ago, but Mullins is targeting the BoyleSports Irish Grand National at the same track on April 2 as his major target.

Speaking at Navan on Friday, Mullins said: "At this stage it looks like Total Recall will be our main hope in the Aintree National and Bellshill in the Irish National.

"Total Recall is fine after his fall at Cheltenham and the plan is to go to Aintree.

"Bellshill is better treated at Aintree than Fairyhouse, but I think it would be the right thing for the horse to go for the Irish National. He handled the course very well when he won the Bobbyjo Chase and I've been pleased with him since."
