Juniper (GB), trained by Anthony Honeyball, lost its left-fore shoe on the way to post.
As the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the mare should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post, Juniper (GB) ran without its left-fore shoe.
Lee Edwards, the rider of Whatsdastory (IRE), was unseated turning into the home straight.
Edwards was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that the incident was accidental and was caused by the mare rolling towards the rail on the bend, making contact with the winner, Juniper (GB), causing Whatsdastory (IRE) to stumble and unseat Edwards.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Juniper (GB), bled from the nose.
