An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when Sky Dancer (GB), placed second, ridden by Tommie Jakes, interfered with Perthshire (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by George Bass.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Jakes was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Jakes was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed without sufficient correction causing Bass to have to take a check for several strides.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that Lucky Protector (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
