Wexford Thu, 25th Apr, 2024 Farfromnowhere She was recommended to us by Colin Bowe and won her point-to-point well, even though it was only a four runner race. . Jack ended up wide and she was still the best mare in the race, I thought. She did very well to win. . They went quick early on and then slowed right down and bunched up. It was tight coming down that hill and I thought she did well to win from where she was. . She lugged in that little bit but I don't think anyone had to stop riding that much, I thought the best mare still won the race. . We didn't want to pull her out, and have an excuse, on heavy ground. I'm not saying she won't handle it, she's out of a Jeremy mare and she could be very versatile. . She's a great mare to lep. We'll see what coming but we won't run her on too fast ground. We'll treat her like she's good until she proves us wrong. |
Wexford Thu, 25th Apr, 2024 Kiltealy Park She was a bit unlucky in Punchestown first time out when she made a mistake at the third last. It didn't work out a fantastic race and she didn't handle the ground at Clonmel, she was beaten after a circuit,. Today the better ground suited and they seemed to go a nice gallop the whole way. We'll keep her in for the summer. Sean said she was leery enough and tried to throw it away at the second last and last, she didn't do herself any favours. She's a maiden hurdle winner now anyway and she's going the right way. She'll jump a fence in time, she was placed in a couple of point-to-points for Colin Bowe. |
Cork Sun, 31st Mar, 2024 Tranquil Sea For a short priced favourite maybe you'd expect him to do it better than that but he was careful over his hurdles. He has been careful in his early races but has warmed to things and obviously his last few runs were better. Sean said he had plenty horse under him going to the line though and it is nice for the owners Anne and Jim Coffey and Susan, who are brilliant supporters of ours. We have had a frustrating year for them but it is nice to get one on the board. We bought him off Richard O'Brien (trainer), who has been lucky for us and we've had a good association with him. He wasn't expensive and was originally bought for a four-year-old bumper but I didn't have the patience to hold on and wait. Thankfully today has worked out and he could end up running in a decent handicap at some stage. |
