< Aspen Colorado built on the promise he showed in bumpers to land the John Lynch Memorial Maiden Hurdle at Listowel.

Joseph O'Brien's 6-4 favourite was one of the leading operators in bumpers last year and travelled well for Mark Walsh, before edging ahead at the third last.

Second favourite Sanibel Island forced Aspen Colorado to work up the straight, but he was always in control and won by three-quarters of a length.< Penhill came out on top in the Sean T. McEligott Memorial Novice Hurdle, giving Willie Mullins a one-two in the race.

Penhill was one of three 2-1 co-favourites for the contest, but the Mullins duo saw off All The Answers by the home turn and Penhill found more for Ruby Walsh to beat stablemate and fellow market leader Bel Sas by seven lengths.

Henry De Bromhead's Deans Road (11-8 favourite) came out on top in the Allman Contracts Ltd. Novice Chase.

With Tocororo a non-runner, Baily Cloud falling early and Tiger Roll running below form, Deans Road cantered to an easy 12-length win over Tiger Roll under Davy Russell.< Emcon (6-1) ran on strongly after the last flight to land the M. J. Carroll ARRO Handicap Hurdle for trainer Willie Austin and jockey Kevin Sexton, coming home three lengths clear of Ballyadam Brook to land the valuable prize.

John Long will have been delighted that Mileys Dream (10-1) got to take his chance in the Speedy's Bars Handicap Hurdle, as the horse who was initially a reserve bounded clear under Danny Mullins.

Paul Townend was able to take a long look around on Curragh Golan between the final two fences in the Beasley Engineering Limited Handicap Chase, as Garrett Power's strong-travelling 2-1 favourite skipped clear to take the race with aplomb.

Raymond Barron timed it perfectly from the front on Patrick Neville's Rockshandy (16-1), who kept up the gallop to land the Chutehall International (QR) Handicap Chase.
