Aidan O'Brien claimed his fifth victory in the Darley Irish Oaks, but it was Seventh Heaven and not odds-on favourite Even Song who came out on top.

Their stablemate Pretty Perfect took them along but was passed by Epsom runner-up Architecture halfway down the straight.

Seventh Heaven (14-1) was hot on her heels, however, and moved past under Seamie Heffernan to triumph by two and three-quarter lengths, with Harlequeen third and Even Song never a factor.

O'Brien's Peace Envoy (3-1) collected Group Three honours in the Jebel Ali Racecourse & Stables Anglesey Stakes.

Coventry Stakes third Psychedelic Funk was odds-on but didn't find the change of gear that Peace Envoy showed, and the Power colt stretched a length and three-quarters clear in the hands of Ryan Moore.< Mecca's Angel bounced back to her brilliant best in the Kilfrush Stud Sapphire Stakes.

So disappointing in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, Michael Dods' stable star was 5-4 favourite to atone and did so in brilliant fashion, dashing three lengths clear of fellow British raider Brando to go one better than she did in this event 12 months ago.

Her jockey Paul Mulrennan capped a memorable day when steering the Mick Easterby-trained Perfect Pasture (16-1) to a clear-cut success in the Evoke.ie Scurry Handicap, storming down the centre of the track to beat Master Speaker by two lengths.

The Darley European Breeders Fund Maiden has thrown up some top-notchers in recent years and Arcada (13-2) added his name to an illustrious roll of honour that includes Teofilo, New Approach, Sea The Stars and Australia by inflicting a half-length defeat on Capri

Helen Mooney was seen to good effect on Zeftan (14-1) to claim the Boodles Ladies Derby Handicap, while Have A Nice Day (13-2) repeated his victory of 12 months ago in the Killashee Handicap.

Queen's Vase third Twilight Payment was a warm order for the Kilsaran International Maiden but had to battle to see off Ex Patriot
