Dual champion jockey Davy Russell is hopeful of last-minute clearance to return to action at Fairyhouse today.
Russell has been sidelined since suffering a broken arm and broken foot in a fall at Cork on August 30 and was due to make his comeback at Clonmel last Thursday.
However, he was unable to take up his three booked rides due to a problem with paperwork and also missed the action over the weekend.
He was originally expecting to sit out the Fairyhouse fixture, but indicated yesterday evening he is set to be given the green light in the morning to partner the Gordon Elliott-trained Space Cadet in the Fairyhouse Membership 2016 Now Available Maiden Hurdle.
