Rocky Dreams beat Inflection Point into second in the claimer on Dundalk's card and in doing so repeated the feat from last year in the very same race.

There was a head between the pair last year when the winner was trained by Denis Hogan and the runner-up by Ado McGuinness and this year the margin was slightly more.

Rocky Dreams, the 13/8 favourite, was ridden by Joey Sheridan to dispute the lead with Inflection Point a furlong and a half down and the pair had the race to themselves in the final furlong as long-time leader Yester gave best in third.

Rocky Dreams stayed on best to beat his stablemate, Inflection Point (4/1), by a neck.

Trainer James McAuley said: "I only saw the result (from last year) and neither of them were mine at the time!

"Once they came back, they have been holding their form to be fair and they have been very busy. Rocky probably not quite as much as he wouldn't be as sound or nimble as some of the others.

"To be fair, we probably claimed them at the wrong time. He's not quite as good on grass as well so I'm sure he will rock up here in the winter, so if someone takes him they can have a bit of fun."
