Jockey Oisin Orr followed his brother Conor Orr in riding a winner today as he won the Dundalk - Light Up Your Night Handicap at Dundalk this evening on the David Marnane trained Feeescape, five hours after his brother's earlier win in Down Royal.
Conor Orr won a handicap chase on Eight Till Late at the northern venue earlier and brother Oisin steered Freescape to a late head win over Admirality in Dundalk's E25,000 feature tonight.
Afterwards Marnane said “he's a fine big horse and I think I've made a bit of a faux pas with him as he's bred to be a sprinter and we were going seven and a mile.
“He was a little bit behind the bridle when he was younger, and greener, but now he's got a bit sharper and is more able to do this.
“I thought it was a good performance and the second horse (Admirality) is obviously a good horse and they pulled well clear.
“I don't where we'll go from here and if we find something similar we might go again up here.
“He's a horse with plenty of ability, he has a lot of size and scope. He's a huge big horse and to be fair he hasn't done much sprinting. He'll start to learn it now as we start to do more of it.”
