Ado McGuinness sends Bowerman to contest a Lingfield All-Weather Qualifier in France tomorrow and the trainer kept up momentum at Dundalk today with Eglish which completed an unlikely hat-trick of wins in the Crowne Plaza Dundalk Race & Stay Handicap.

Bowerman is seeking qualification to Lingfield's Good Friday Championship in the Listed Prix Saonois at southern Cagnes-Sur-Mer and at Dundalk, Eglish gained her third win of the year when scoring a head success under Colin Keane.

Eglish was initially sold for 6,500gns as a foal, before failing to sell for E1,000 as a broken two year old last February. On the racecourse, the daughter of Heeraat then went unclaimed in Claiming races for E15,000 and E6,000 last year but today brought her career earnings to E20,000.

Stephen Thorne, McGuinness' nephew and assistant trainer, later commented “she was five wide into that first bend but she’s as tough as teak and Colin said she settled well over the six (furlongs) tonight as there was a strong pace.

“She will probably step back up to seven for the Winter Series Award Day (on April 4). The race is worth over 20 grand and she is guaranteed to get in with the points she has earned if she is not sold beforehand.

“Colin said either seven or a mile would suit her."
