Inventor asserted in the closing stages to get off the mark dropping back to the minimum trip in the Thank You To The Frontline Workers Handicap at Tipperary.

Billy Lee took the mount on the Invincible Spirit gelding for his sister Gillian Scott and he tracked the leaders before asking him to challenge a furlong-and-a-half from home.

There were four almost in a line passing the furlong pole but Inventor edged ahead in the last 100 yards to record a length-and-a-quarter success over 50/1 shot Niamh Elizabeth

The 10/1 winner had been fifth on his handicap debut, and first start for new connections, at Gowran earlier in the month when he had made a lot of the running and faded in the closing stages.

He had cost just €1,600 at the sale last November and the trainer said:-

"He was surplus to Godolphin's requirements and was a chancey horse to buy but he has paid for himself now.

"We were slightly concerned about the ground but the rain helped massively.

"He is owned by Bill's wife Catriona (MacNabb) - they got married in November and this is her first winner."
