Power Drive produced another fine front-running performance to strike again at Dundalk in the opener this afternoon.

Charles O'Brien 's charge had won on his last visit to the track in late September and repeated the trick in the first division of the mile-and-a-half handicap today.

Declan McDonogh bounced his mount out in front and he had a three length advantage at halfway.

His rivals were at work turning for home and McDonogh kept his mount up to his work inside the final furlong to post a three-and-a-half length success over Prime Chief

McDonogh said:- “He’s a real fast ground actioned horse and pings off the surface. I got left alone again and was able to control things.

“It’s blustery out there and when you turn the bottom bend it turns you sideways. He did well as he was alone in front for a long time.

“He’s a progressive horse and I think there is some talk of him being sold as a jumper.

“He’s a fine big scopey horse, uncomplicated and has a lovely cruise to him. When you let him down he stays galloping.

“He could win another one of them if the handicapper isn’t too hard on him. I wasn’t sure how far I was clear because it was so windy.”
