Dancing Meadows bagged her first victory over timber in decisive fashion in Downpatrick's extended two and a quarter mile maiden hurdle.

The 15/8 favourite, in the first-time hood, moved into third place after three out before grabbing the lead after the last. She kept on well up the hill to score by nine lengths in the hands of Bryan Cooper. Rathmuck Native who was gambled on at the track from 9/2 to 3/1, kept on for second after being headed by the winner. It was a length and a quarter back to Banker Burke (13/2) in third.

Trainer Gordon Elliott said: "She has been frustrating for different reasons. It's good to get that first winner for those owners - Danny Charlesworth is from England. We'll probably try a mares' novice in England."

Dancing Meadows won two bumpers in Ballinrobe and Worcester in June and August 2014.
