Miss Cunning got up near the line to grab the front-running Sebs Star in another thrilling finish at Dundalk this afternoon.

Sebs Star showed plenty of early pace in the six-furlong nursery and had a five-length lead at halfway.

She looked to have her field on the stretch early in the straight but Danny Sheehy got a good tune from Miss Cunning in the closing stages.

The Kevin Prendergast-trained filly got her head in front in the last strides to record a half-length win.

It proved a good result for the bookies with the winner an easy-to-back 25/1 shot while the runner-up was the same price. Eglish who was a length-and-a-quarter back in third, returned 33/1.

Miss Cunning was tackling the all-weather surface for the first time and her previous form had all come on softish ground on the turf.

Sheehy said afterwards:- “It wasn’t an ideal draw put she jumped well and I slotted in as best as I could. We went hard and she flew home. She’ll be better over seven.

“I was talking to Chris Hayes this morning and he told me to jump and slot in wherever you can, and he also said she would be better over further.

“The further she went the better she was going so I’m delighted.”
