Cactus Tree who got in as second reserve, came from last to first to win the Plusvital Handicap.

Having registered a first success on her twenty-eighth start at Fairyhouse last month, the Camelot bay was sent off a 12/1 today.

Soon in rear under Wayne Lordan, the Michael Grassick trained victor was pushed along approaching the straight and was soon brought to the wide outside.

She began to progress her position from over a furlong out and powered home inside the final furlong, getting up in the closing strides, going on to prevail by half a length.

All Things Beautiful (12s early, returned the 4/1 favourite) also came from off the pace to lead inside the final furlong but she couldn't hold off the winner and had to settle for second under Robbie Colgan for John Murphy. Drish Hero (14/1) was a length-and-a-quarter back in third, while Tai Sing Yeh (12/1) completed the places another half a length back in fourth.

Grassick, who was also on the mark yesterday at Sligo with Miss Myers, said: "Wayne said he was always quite happy. He felt that they had gone hard up front and that they would come back to him. We'll see how she comes out of this but she might now go to Cork on Saturday."
