The Giant Bolster is the latest big name to have been inked into the potential line-up for the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday week.

The likes of Silviniaco Conti, Dynaste, Medermit and Corrin Wood are all in the mix at this stage for one of the first major races of the jumps season.

Trainer David Bridgwater has asked his stable star, who has ran with honour in the last three Gold Cups at Cheltenham, to start off in the Betfair Chase for the last two seasons but he may begin his campaign a few weeks earlier this year.

"The Giant Bolster could go for the Charlie Hall Chase," said Bridgwater.

"Everything has gone really well since he has come back in. If he is ready and we are happy, then he will start at Wetherby.

"He has been a wonderful horse and would be for any trainer or owner, let alone a small yard like ours.

"We will continue with the hood and visor this season or certainly something similar."
