Saptapadi is set to make the trip across from Brian Ellison's Yorkshire base in search of a big payday at the Galway Festival.

The eight-year-old's strike-rate of one win from 34 starts doesn't do him justice because he has been a talented stayer over the years, and he beat all bar Pearl Castle at York when last seen.

The Koo's Racing Club are eyeing the 100,000-euro Guinness Handicap on Friday week, and owner Kristian Strangeway said: "We like to aim our horses at these big valuable handicaps and that's the plan with Saptapadi.

"There is some great prize money on offer next week and we feel it's important to support those races. He's probably too far down in the weights to get a run in the Ebor next month so we're looking for alternatives with him."
