Bold Enough off the mark over hurdles
We said after his last run that we would put him away and wait for the new novice season, but we didn't think it would be this long!. I'm delighted to get him going and he had to do it the hard way as it looked he was taken on for the whole race. He saw it out well because the other horse (runner-up Hesamanofhisword) looked to be going better turning in. He is owned by a new client Mastafa Elatrash, who lives in Dungarvan, so I'm delighted and it's great to get a winner for him.
Barrington Court beats the boys under Walsh
You'd have to be delighted with her as when she is right she is very good. She did things nicely and Mum will have a chat with Frank (Berry, winning owner JP McManus' racing manager) and decide where we go from here. She had a little problem after her last run which we have ironed out now and this is great. Mum is going to Leopardstown later today for her debut (being present at behind closed doors racing)!
Training winners is Cromwell's Bread And Butter
He had a little break in between runs and did well during it. He was flat to the boards at Downpatrick the last day and couldn't lie up but loved the bit of juice in the ground today. He's only a small little summer horse and hopefully the handicapper isn't too hard on him.
Lariat Lords it again at Tipperary
He didn't jump as slick as he did the last day but it was probably due to the ground (yielding, soft in places). I didn't think they would get as much rain as they did here and it's not ideal. It is hard on a big horse to come back so quick but it was his last chance today in a 80-95. If I don't give him a break now, we'll pay for it down the road and we'll see what the handicapper does with him now.
