FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ANNA BUNINA was a good winner of a useful maiden hurdle at Cork last month and can win this complicated handicap-type race. ANNA BUNINA doesn't have an official I.H.R.B. rating but runs from a mark of 121 here following a fine effort to win well at Cork, with the runner-up and fifth placed horses winning subsequently. ANNA BUNINA was a capable flat filly and looks the type to do quite well over hurdles, with today's rider also claiming a very useful 7lbs. Arthurian Fame was also a capable flat performer and while he had been a little frustrating over hurdles, won nicely at Kilbeggan last month. He has his chance today but gives away plenty weight to the selection. Somptueux has more on his plate than when winning at Kilbeggan latest but his rider does claim a useful 7lbs while Scalor similarly faces a stiffer task than when also winning at Kilbeggan latest. Multiple flat winner Jon Ess finally came good over hurdles at Gowran latest (at the 14th attempt) and while he could maintain some progression now, might bump into a few too strong. Cafe Con Leche was well held on soft at Galway on Sunday and while he does prefer an ease, has place claims on his best hurdles form.
