FormscanBy Mark Nunan - RULING might be a little ring-rusty having been out of action for over three months but the 101-rated colt sets a high standard and this looks a very good opportunity for him. The Camelot gelding was a length and a half behind The Mediterranean in a 1m4f Leopardstown maiden in May and then finished closer to the subsequent St Leger third when placed in a Listed race at the same venue the following month. It looked like he didn’t stay in the Queen’s Vase when last seen and he should be able to handle dropping back to ten furlongs in this company. Straight Talking is a half-sister to exciting juvenile Straight Answer but her debut fifth at Navan was no more than fair and she’s hooded now as she tries a longer trip. Tignanello wasn’t disgraced in a maiden won by National Stakes winner Thunder Moon on his only start last term but is likely to come on for this reappearance. Rick Dalton, a half-brother to Listed winner Johnny Drama who began his career with Ger Lyons, looks the most interesting of the newcomers. Rollet is a useful second string for Joseph O’Brien and certainly has place prospects on the form of his debut second at Dundalk.
