FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - COQOLINO has been a beaten favourite on his two racecourse outings to date but he’s worth another chance. He had to yield to Lieutenant Command at Galway last time, with the pair well clear. Sean Flanagan wasn’t hiding his regard for the winner in the aftermath, and Coqolino ought to enjoy going a little bit further here. The French-bred won a point-to-point for Eugene and Maxine O’Sullivan at Ballindenisk, and this observer remembers being present to see Joncol win at the same venue in December 2007. Joncol went on to do Paul Nolan proud as a staying chaser, and that’s ultimately where Coqolino will probably make his name too. However there’s plenty of races to be won with him before then, and he’s now taken to account for the likes of Idas Boy, Fighter Allen (switched from Gordon Elliott to Willie Mullins), Getaway Pat and Lifetime Ambition.
