FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - On his first start for Peter Fahey EARL OF DESMOND may be worth chancing. Out of seven time winner, Gemini Lucy, the selection, a son of Presenting, could be suited by dropping in trip and racing on better ground. Owned by Basil Holian, so well known in coursing circles with great greyhounds such as Watchman and Rumour Has It, aspirations for Earl Of Desmond would doubtless have been reasonably high when he was bought for 80,000 Euros at the Derby Sale in 2018. He hasn’t run since January but the Fahey yard sent out a winner lately and Gavin Brouder’s mount is likely to be well primed for this assignment as the company he’s keeping isn’t the most taxing. Samba Dancer, Hardy Man (both rated 105), The Wonky Tonk (104) and Jess’s Corner (99) all make the short-list.
