The Shark Hanlon trained My Direction made all for a game front-running success in the concluding Join Gowran Park Racing Club Beginners Chase at Gowran today, winning under Brian Hayes.

Second favourite for the race Rich Coast refused the first fence and while My Direction's remaining four rivals gave chase, none were able to catch the front-runner whose biggest concern in the home straight was his tendency to jump to his left.

At the line the son of Singspiel held on to beat 6/4 favourite Frontline

Halon later stated "it might not have been much of a race but he couldn't have done it any better than he did.

"I bought him at Ascot for handy money about three months ago and he's was a lovely horse over hurdles but I'd say he just went a little sour. He loves this game and jumped great.

"I'd say I'll let him off for the winter now as he's very weak still and hopefully he'll be a nice horse for next year."
