Wood Breizh looks to have booked a ticket to the Galway Festival after opening his Flat account in Ireland at Tipperary on Thursday.

Already a winner at Tramore and Clonmel over hurdles for Willie Mullins, the five-year-old grey switched back to the level earlier this week and dominated proceedings from the front under Pat Smullen.

His owners, Supreme Horse Racing Club, will now weigh up the options for the week-long Ballybrit bonanza, which starts at the end of the month.

Supreme racing manager Steve Massey said: "We were delighted with 'Woody' the other night.

"He's a good, fun horse for everyone that's involved with him.

"He's won two hurdle races as well and has been placed a good few times on the Flat and over jumps.

"We'll go to Galway with him now, all being well, and, being so versatile, we won't be short of options with him.

"He could go on the Flat or back over hurdles and we'll just see where we are nearer the time.

"He's still only a five-year-old and hopefully still improving."
