Review curragh 25th Sep

Aidan O'Brien saddled the first three home in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh as Capri completed a hat-trick.

The Galileo colt was made to work hard but ground it out well to give his handler a sixth straight victory in the Group Two contest, and a 16th in total.< Escape Clause and Exemplar took the six-strong field along until the latter went on, but his stablemate Capri soon ranged alongside under Ryan Moore and the 8-11 shot asserted to score by three-quarters of a length.

That completed a double for O'Brien and Moore after the pair successfully teamed up with The Happy Prince (11-4fav) in the Renaissance Stakes.

The four-year-old bounced back from a short-head defeat in the Park Stakes at Doncaster to take the Group Three event, making most of the running and keeping on well to hold Flight Risk by three-quarters of a length.< Eziyra justified 5-4 favouritism in good style as she proved an appropriate winner of the C.L. & M.F. Weld Park Stakes.

Trained by Dermot Weld in whose late parents' memory the Group Three race is run, the Aga Khan-owned filly took it up on the near side over a furlong out and stayed on strongly to see off the challenge of Grecian Light by a couple of lengths.

Forgotton Rules (3-1) was denied a winning return from 344 days off as he was worn down by the Jim Bolger-trained Twilight Payment by half a length in the Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Loughbrown Stakes.

Bolger had already tasted success when Vociferous Marina belied odds of 14-1 to land the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden, staying on strong to beat Finn McCool by a length and three-quarters.

Patrick Mullins partnered the Mick Winters-trained Theos Well (8-1) to a comfortable three-and-a-quarter-length success from Pivot Bridge in the Manguard Plus Amateur Riders Derby (Q.R.) Handicap, while Tithonus (12-1) denied Rattling Jewel by three-quarters of a lengths to take the Mongey Communications Joe McGrath Premier Handicap.< Texas Rock (14-1) touched off Jacobs Well by a short head i
