Trainer Anthony McCann saddled a double at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening when both Temasek Star and Pushaq won in the colours of Rita Shah.

Temasek Star formerly a four-time winner at Dundalk when trained by Michael Halford was sent off a well-supported 7/4 favourite for the Jennings Cumberland Handicap over 1m5f but need every yard of the distance to win.

The six year old was held up at the back of the field by Shane Kelly and came with a storming run in the home straight to get his head in front right on the line for a short-head victory.

Kelly also rode Pushaq (10/1) in the Wainwright Golden Beer Handicap over an extended 1m1f and again dropped his mount out towards the rear. The pair started to make progress on the approach to the straight and hit the front with under a furlong to race, eventually passing the post 3/4 of a length ahead of the favourite Deep Challenger.

Pushaq, wearing a first time hood, had previously scored over the course at Wolverhampton when in the care of Marco Botti.
