The Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket "is not off the agenda yet" for Jennies Jewel - despite having disappointed at the Curragh on Sunday.

Jarlath Fahey's admirable nine-year-old, winner of the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting in June, produced a surprisingly laboured effort in the two-mile Loughbrown Stakes, in which she beat just two horses home.

Jennies Jewel still holds an entry in the Cesarewitch on October 8, with Fahey keeping an open mind about her participation.

He said: "She seems fine after the race. The vets checked her over and nothing was amiss.

"It was a mystifying run, really, and it was very rare for her to run like that.

"It (Cesarewitch) is not off the agenda yet. We'll give her a few easy days and see how she is early next week before deciding whether we travel to Newmarket."
