Punters have latched on to Gordon Elliott's Zanahiyr in the opener at Cheltenham this afternoon with the gelding's odds tumbling from 20/1 to as low as 9/1 with bookmakers this morning.

Zanahiyr, placed in two Champion Hurdles at the Festival, is bidding to break Elliott's duck at Cheltenham this week where the trainer has had 7 placed horses over the first two days without a winner.

This could be a big day for the Elliott team with two strong favourites later in the afternoon, Teahupoo in the Stayers' Hurdle and Brighterdaysahead in the Mares Novices' Hurdle.

There have been market moves for the two of Nigel Twiston-Davies runners in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Final. Outsider Gowel Road has been trimmed from 40/1 to 20/1 with most bookmakers, while the stable's first string Cuthbert Dibble is strong at the head of the market shortening from 7/1 to 9/2.

Ted Walsh 's Gaoth Chuil is also popular in the Pertemps have been cut in price from 15/2 to a general 6/1.

The Henry de Bromhead/Rachael Blackmore combination, which has been successful twice already this week, are also in favour with the punters as their Arctic Bresil (11/1 - 15/2) is attracting support in the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase.

Owner JP McManus and Amateur rider Derek O'Connor teamed up earlier in the week to win the National Hunt Chase with Corbetts Cross and the betting suggests they could double up in the last today as Inothewayurthinkin has hardened from 3/1 to a solid 2/1 favourite for the Kim Muir Handicap Chase.
