The Tony Martin trained Ted Veale took the unusual route of contesting a point to point, winning a bumper and appearing over hurdles before winning a ten furlong Flat maiden, at Sligo today.

Ridden by Fran Berry, the son of Revoque (backed from 9/4 into 7/4f on track) readily landed the Sponsor A Race At Sligo 2013 Maiden, scoring a three parts of a length win over Brassbound

Afterwards Martin stated “Ted Veale is not too bad but he got ran off his feet first time over hurdles at Galway the last day. I've always liked him though and he could go back over hurdles now, before possibly going for a Flat handicap.”

“Down the road he could make a nice chaser and should develop into a good handicapper under all codes.”
