Tithonus claimed his third win of the season when landing the competitive Bar One Racing Handicap at Dundalk this afternoon.

Rory Cleary tracked the leaders on the 11/2 shot before claiming front-runner Abstraction at the furlong pole.

The Denis Hogan-trained gelding stuck on well in the closing stages, as Ostatnia and Sahreej came through to press, for a half length victory in the five-furlong event.

Ostatnia prevailed by a short-head for the runner-up spot.

The winner was recording his fifth career success having also won twice over six furlongs on the all-weather last winter.

Hogan was absent, as he was attending a wedding, and Cleary said afterwards:-

“Denis said you have a good draw so jump and use it.

“It all opened up well and once he got a clear run he stayed at it well. He’s very honest.”
