Alla Speranza upstaged some more loudly heralded rivals when taking the Group 3 KPMG Enterprise Stakes under Kevin Manning at Leopardstown.

The winner, a grey daughter of Sir Percy, finished out her race best to account for Primevere by half a length with the uneasy favourite Speaking Of Which having to settle for third having held every chance.

Jim Bolger trains Alla Speranza for owner/breeder Miss Kirsten Rausing and he said: "I'm very happy to win a race of that calibre with her. She'd been knocking at the door and it's good to get her head in front.

"That ground suits her fine and it's the the first time she got it in quite a while. She got the trip well too.

"We ran her in the Guineas (6th behind Homecoming Queen) and maybe ran her back a bit quick then. It took her a while to get over that.

"We'll get her home now and have a think. That's nearly the job done but we may be a bit greedy and go for something else." (GC & EM)
