Speckled Meadow has plenty of form on heavy ground and again showed her liking for testing conditions when winning the concluding 47-65 handicap over a mile.

The 11/2 joint-favourite tracked the leaders on the outer and made headway to lead over a furlong out. Adam Caffrey kept the seven-year-old going to beat Starting Monday by three quarters of a length.

Winning owner/trainer Don Browne said: “That’s my first winner as a trainer. I owned this horse when she won before for Terence O’Brien.

“I have four horses in training in Carrigtwohill.

“I had a licence years ago and then renewed it again last year.

“She handles that ground and did it well. It’s a dream come true!”
