Wordsaplenty (an 8/1 chance – 10 cent Rule 4 to board prices) got loose and had to be withdrawn which saw the John O'Connor Engineering Handicap go off nearly four minutes late at Killarney. It was worth the wait for John Murphy and Joseph O'Brien though as Slipper Satin shrugged aside a 106 day absence to score.

We hadn't seen the Excellent Art filly since the middle of May and she'd surprisingly enough missed three engagements since, all for the same reason – nasal discharge.

Anyway Murphy (winning breeder too) produced his three-year-old fit and well for this engagement. She went out and made all, keeping on well under pressure in the final furlong to beat Campestral Scene by a length and a half. (TW & EM)
