Zen Silence gained a deserved first career win at Dundalk today as the Kieren Cotter trained filly landed the opening Follow Us On Twitter @DundalkStadium Maiden under Champion Jockey Colin Keane.

The 69 rated daughter of Dragon Pulse had filled the runner-up spot twice on her last three starts and today, under differing tactics racing from off the pace, arrived to eventually defeat Tassel Flower by a length and gain a valuable first win.

Afterwards Cotter said “we're delighted to get a winning bracket for her. Jim Ryan and Dr Tan are big supporters of the yard.

“She's not the most straight-forward of fillies but I think she's improving with the more experience she's getting. That was her best effort today and hopefully she can progress with racing.

“We always thought she was very smart and she deserved to win a maiden.

'We think when she gets a bit of cut in the ground she'll be even better on the grass as she has a bit of a knee action.”
