The John McConnell trained Sheila's Hope completed a hat-trick of recent wins at Naas this evening when landing the Hermitage Green Live After Racing Handicap under regular rider Tom Madden.

The daughter of Casamento has maintained a 100% unbeaten record this year and having won at Cork and Fairyhouse last month, got off the mark at the first attempt for June when today making all to beat Machiavelli by three and three parts of a length.

McConnell later commented “she's obviously progressing. She's a very straight-forward filly, bowls along and picks up and it looks like she'd stay a mile-and-a-half on that.

“I don't know what the plans are now. The owner (Peter Commane) and I sit down and then I do what I'm told!

“It's great and she's really going the right way. We'll see what the handicapper does, he's probably going to have his way now.

“You never know with these fillies that keep going the right way. She doesn't owe us anything now anyway and just has the winning habit and knows how to run. That's a good thing to have and not every horse has that.”
