SBK, the sportsbook app powered by Smarkets, will sponsor the €50,000 SBK Vintage Crop Stakes Listed race, one of the premier trials for the Ascot Gold Cup.

Aidan O’Brien has today confirmed that Kyprios is on target to make his eagerly awaited seasonal return in this year’s renewal.

The SBK Vintage Crop Stakes Day is the highlight of Navan Racecourse’s flat season, on a card that also features the Irish EBF Salsabil Stakes (Group 3) and the Irish EBF Committed Stakes (Listed) and the card regularly sees some of Ireland’s top horses make their seasonal return.

SBK is a online sports betting app that offers, on average, substantially better odds on the biggest sports events compared to competing bookmakers and this sponsorship is another indication of their continued support of Irish Racing.

Aidan O’Brien, trainer of Kyprios said: “We are very happy with Kyprios this year, everything has went very well and we are looking forward to starting him in The SBK Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan. The plan is that he will start at Navan, then go to Leopardstown and then The Ascot Gold Cup after that. We are very happy with him, he has done very well physically and looking forward to starting him.”

Adam Baylis, Marketing Director at SBK said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the SBK Vintage Crop Stakes Raceday at Navan later this month. The Vintage Crop is a race with an incredible roll of honour and we’re really looking forward to seeing who will take home the prize this year.”

Speaking about the new sponsorship at Navan Racecourse Aidan McGarry, Navan Racecourse Manager commented: “I am thrilled to welcome SBK as title sponsors, and we are hugely appreciative of their support. The whole card is high class with some of the top juveniles and three-year-olds stepping out on to the track for their seasonal debuts. As well as the top class racing on the track, we will also have a raceday and flat season preview prior to racing with guest speakers including Colin Keane and Kevin Blake”.
