Reposer put in a game front-running display to take the competitive 16-runner one mile handicap at Leopardstown under Rory Cleary.

The five-year-old gelding, trained by Muredach Kelly, hit form recently as he was following up on a win over seven furlongs on Dundalk’s polytrack at the start of April.

Jockey Rory Cleary said: “He jumped and travelled well. He brought me along the whole way and quickened when I asked him.

“He did get the run of the race, but hopefully there’s more in him.”

Trainer Muredach Kelly added: “He’s better than I thought he was.”

All of Reposer’s three previous wins had come at all-weather tracks. He went off 12/1 for today’s assignment. However, he paid almost 37/1 on the Tote. Waydownsouth was the subject of a gamble from 9/1 this morning down to 5/1 second favourite on the off. He came in third behind Brown Butterfly (14/1). The 7/2 favourite, Stronger Than Me grabbed fourth place prize money.
